Ingredients
- Alternative Bread Co Wholesome Bread Mix
- Small onion - finely chopped
- 200g streaky bacon
- 250g cream cheese, softened
- 2/3 cup of cream
- 2/3 cup of sour cream
- 11/5 cups of grated cheese
- Salt and pepper
- Chives or coriander for garnishing
Directions
- First, mix up a Wholesome loaf as per usual. We made ours round and cooked in a dutch oven to make it extra crusty
- Once cooled, hollow out the centre of the loaf and make sure you keep the filling to use for dipping
- In a frypan, put together your diced bacon (we used the hellers ol’ smokey bacon) and cook for 5-10mins or until onion is soft and bacon is browning
- Once cooked, put into a bowl and add in the cream cheese, cream, sour cream and cheese
- Mix well until fully combines. Add salt and pepper to taste (you can also add chives here too!)
- Fill the Cobb with the mixture, cover with tinfoil and pop into an oven at 180 degrees for about 30mins
- Uncover and bake for a further 10mins to brown off the top. You can also throw the bread pieces in here too to bake and go crunchy
- Garnish with more chives or coriander and serve warm. YUM!
